URGENT ACTION REQUIRED!

Under the Office of Management and Budget’s Grant Regulations at 2 C.F.R. 200, the U.S. Department of the Interior not only has no objections to the sale of the Sunset Beach Sportsmen’s Club property, but is fully willing to cooperate in any such sale.

We’re grateful to Governor Murphy for his continued consideration of this solution to save our Club, and encourage Club members and supporters to make their voices heard by contacting the Office of the Governor and the NJ DEP to urge them to sell us our ½ acre parcel at Sunset Beach, Cape May, as expressly allowed by the DOI under the Office of Management and Budget’s Grant Regulations at 2 C.F.R. 200.

Save The Sportsmen’s Club

For more than 65 years, the Sunset Beach Sportsmen’s Club (SBSC) has existed on a small portion of land tucked away behind several commercial buildings and uses present in the area of Sunset Beach.

Our request is simple: that the NJ DEP find a reasonable solution that allows the Sunset Beach Sportsmen’s Club to continue operating in our historical location on the Delaware Bayfront.

If you’d like to support our fight to save the club, please consider signing our online petition at Change.org or donating to our Save the Club Fund. For more information, please click “Take Action.”

Sportsmen’s Club History

Founded in 1949 by a few friends as they fished from the shorelines of Cape May Point, New Jersey, The Club has since grown to include a small clubhouse and a diverse membership of nearly 200 members, including veterans and active military members, active and retired police, firefighters, and EMTs, environmentalists and historical preservationists, local business owners, and educators, to name a few.

Although we've grown and added a commitment to supporting charitable efforts throughout the community, we continue to hold fast to the core mission of our original members: promoting "the welfare and conservation of fish, game, and natural resources."
